Red Hatters Off to the Races in Ruidoso, New Mexico

Saturday, August 31, 2019

It seems that only three of us out of 20 members showed up for this event. However, another one of our members did show up, but the three of us were someplace else. It's the Red Hat way sometimes.

At any rate, three Red Hatters from Alamogordo, New Mexico, members of the New Mexico Roadrunner Chapter of the Red Hat Society took a day trip to Ruidoso, New Mexico to place some bets on the ponies. First, we had lunch in Billy the Kid's Restaurant and the food was quite tasty.

We all went home with money in our pockets. I think I only missed winning something in one race the whole day and on the last race of the day, I believe Gail won right around $40.

I was so busy watching races and running back and forth to the betting windows to bet and collect that I fell down on the job of taking pictures so this is a short article that will prepare you for the next one which is quite long.

Left is Gail Swineford aka Royal Scribble with her last race winning ticket with Trudy Reese
Carla Kerr aka Queen Ladybird with a winning ticket

It was a FUN outing and as we always say, "Wherever two or more Red Hatters are gathered, there is bound to be laughter and mischief."

This is all I have to say for now.
