Red Hatters Travel to Silver City for Their Chocolate Fantasia Event

Saturday, February 11, 2017

Members of the New Mexico Roadrunner Chapter of the Red Hat Society in Alamogordo, New Mexico took a day trip to Silver City New Mexico to take part in their Chocolate Fantasia event. Silver City is about a three hour drive from Alamogordo and the girls had FUN visiting with each other during the trip.

Upon arriving, they immediately found a fabulous shop with tons of Red Hat related items for sale quite reasonably. Many items were gently used, but they were immediately grabbed up by several for future use.

The way the event worked, one paid $25 for a bag and a list of retailers who were involved with providing chocolate. You walked up and down the street going into each shop on the list to get their chocolate. There was also a contest as to who created the best chocolate and this was voted on by the attendees. Silver City has some very uneven sidewalks and streets so the girls got their exercise.

Lunch was enjoyed in Diana's Restaurant and although the food was slow to arrive, it was quite delicious. Evidently, they make it as it is ordered which keeps it fresh, but not good to go there starved.

All agreed that going back to Silver City would be a good day trip, especially to that particular shop with all the Red Hat merchandise for sale.

Evans with his bride, Alice. He has so many great stories after spending many years of his life on the oceans of the world.
Alice and Evans met us there. We had been discussing how we were ever going to find them. There were many people up and down the street. As the four of us were walking to the place to get the $25 bags for the chocolate, we walked right into Evans and Alice. Amazing! Oh, and the chocolate was to die for!

This is all I have to say for now.
