Red Hatters Attend Beading Workshop

Saturday, September 26, 2015

Several members of the New Mexico Roadrunner Chapter of the Red Hat Society attended a Beading Workshop at Le Spirit Arts & Crafts Supplies in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Pennie, Designer/Owner of the shop had everything beautifully prepared for this learning experience as it certainly was for most in attendance. In this first venture into beading,  each made the same necklace in red and purple beads and amazingly, everyone finished timely with a little help from sister Red Hatters at times. Each immediately wore her necklace to show off her creation.

This was a FUN event and the conversations that transpired as each worked at making that necklace inspired a lot of laughter. Plans were originally made to attend the Patio Ice Cream Shop afterwards to celebrate "Remember the Ala Mode" the battle cry of next years RHS National Convention in San Antonio, Texas. However, it was discovered that they did not open until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

We all went to Chili's for lunch and shouting, "Remember the Ala Mode", ate dessert first. What FUN this was. The desserts at Chili's are so generous that most of the girls opted to share with another and it all worked out.

The finished product. Isn't this a lovely necklace?
Four other members joined the group at Chili's for lunch. They were quite impressed with the necklaces.

Alice making her big announcement. She just got married out at White Sands and she had her wedding program and pictures to pass around. Margie is looking on.

Flo is looking especially pretty today
It was a fun day for all and a good event. The funniest thing that happened at the beading workshop is that Lu grew impatient with Jean (who has depth perception problems with her eyes) and grabbed her necklace and finished it for her saying, "I'm hungry!"

This is all I have to say for now.
