Wednesday, August 10, 2016

Carla (Crittenden) Kerr, author, playwright, actor, COPE (Center Of Protective Environment) Board Member, Theatre Guild President of the Rohovec Theatre on the Hill at New Mexico State University-Alamogordo and wife of Douglas Kerr recently celebrated her 78th birthday. Douglas took her to the fabulous Grill 49 in Tularosa, New Mexico for a lovely birthday dinner.

If you haven't been there, you need to go! The food is excellent and quite different from the usual bill of fare in these parts. The restaurant is colorful, filled with light, and beautifully appointed. Fabulous art hangs on the walls created by local talent and it is for sale. The location is formerly known as The Tulie Cafe at 313 Granado Street and you will be delighted with the improvements in decor as well as food. They also have a Champagne Brunch on Sundays starting at 10:30am and ending at 2:30pm. Live music is offered on Fridays and Saturdays.

Red Hatters Visit Tularosa Basin Historical Museum in Alamogordo, New Mexico

Saturday, August 6, 2016

Members of New Mexico Roadrunner Chapter of the Red Hat Society in Alamogordo, New Mexico enjoyed exploring the Tularosa Basin Historical Museum. This is indeed a first class operation and represents so much of the history of the area. It is beautifully appointed and the exhibits are professionally displayed making this a delightful outing.

Afterward, they went to Cowboy's Steak House for lunch. The food was excellent and the conversation stimulating and FUN! The girls played "Happy Birthday" on their kazoos to Queen Ladybird aka Carla Kerr and gave her gifts and cards in celebration.

Thanks, Doug, for taking my picture before I left to join the others.
This was a really FUN outing and we all agreed that we need to go back because there is just so much to see in this marvelous museum that we wore out before we really took it all in.

This is all I have to say for now.

New Mexico Roadrunner Chapter Red Hatters Enjoy Games Day

Saturday, July 23, 2016

Members of New Mexico Roadrunner Chapter of the Red Hat Society in Alamogordo, New Mexico enjoyed playing games of "Farkle" and "Racko" on Saturday, July 23, 2016 in the home of their Queen Ladybird aka Carla Kerr.

It was decided that "Racko" would henceforth be known as the "Dorothy Smith" Game because she won every round. Everyone brought sack lunches and tea, coffee and a delicious (they said it was anyway) dessert of peach cobbler were provided by Queen Ladybird. Much enjoyable conversation ensued and everyone had a grand time. Members were provided bags to gather peaches from the tree to take home with them.

We had such a FUN time and will be doing this again. We try to have a games day at least every other month. We are hoping it stretches our brains by learning new games.

Thanks to Douglas A. Kerr, Photography for his very capable photography.

This is all I have to say for now.
