PCWNC Celebration of Women Week
Monday, March 7, 2011
We got off to a great start with over 20 of us showing up at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant for breakfast and it was delicious. Charl Roberson does a great job of chairing this group and it's always fun when so many more show up for special events like Celebration of Women Week.
I had pancakes covered with apples and sauce and bacon. I didn't pay much attention to what others were eating because I was starved since I'm used to eating earlier when I'm at home. The coffee and conversation was great too. You can probably see by the photos that everyone was having a great time.

Continuing Celebration of Women Week, we played "Mardi Gras" bingo and enjoyed a potluck luncheon at the Aledo, Texas Community Center. The decorations were all in purple, gold and green Mardi Gras colors and, thanks to Donna Caudle, everyone had beads to wear.
Alicia Pittman was in charge of this event and she had the help of a great "crewe" (If you've ever been to New Orleans, you know what a crewe is.). Bingo prizes were outstanding, food was as delicious as it always is when these ladies cook. One thing we do have in PCWNC is a group of excellent cooks and we even have our own published cookbook to prove it!
Yours truly got into the spirit of things with the wearing of a few feathers and such. We had several newcomers who appeared to enjoy themselves, hopefully well enough that they will consider joining us permanently.
This is all I have to say for now.
