Goodbye Luncheon for Ellen Wedum at Cloudcroft, New Mexico

Wednesday, June 17, 2015

A number of good friends and associates of Ellen Wedum gathered at Big Daddy's Diner in Cloudcroft, New Mexico to say so long as she is moving to Oregon to be near her children. This mountain girl will certainly be missed by many. Don't know exactly how many times she has run for local and state offices, but her name is well known around the area.

Ellen is a credentialed scientist among her other attributes and a person who deeply cares about the environment and the people who make the decisions concerning it.

Several people told "Ellen Stories" giving those of us who haven't known her as long even more insight into this amazing woman.

One interesting story told was that during one of her campaigns, she was expected to show up in Weed, New Mexico. She was told that they were a gun-toting bunch of people. Ellen went into another room and came out with her 45 strapped to her waist saying, "I'm ready. Let's go."

Doug Kerr photographed the event and unfortunately I did not make notes of all the attendees names, but hopefully, the pictures will tell the story.

The food was delicious as always. Doug and I look forward to dining at Big Daddy's just to get our posole fix as we think they have the best posole of any establishment in these parts.

Thanks to Douglas A. Kerr, Photography for the great photos of this momentous occasion. We will definitely miss Ellen being in our midst and being involved in all things political.

This is all I have to say for now.
