Red Hatters at Friendship Tea House for Tea Luncheon

Saturday, January 18, 2020

Twelve members of the New Mexico Roadrunner Chapter in Alamogordo, New Mexico gathered at the Friendship Tea House for a lovely tea luncheon. We were actually Barb's first customers when she opened the tea house in January 2018. Barb Frick and her husband Bob make a great team in their kitchen and everything is freshly made and served that day.

As you will discover looking at the pictures below, this is truly a beautiful setting for a tea. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment, celebrating two birthdays for Vice Queen Alice Evans and Margie Purcella by kazooing Happy Birthday and presenting gifts. There was plenty of time for visiting and enjoying each other's company.

Just a shot to show how lovely everything looks

Thanks to Barb for taking the last picture of all of us on her front porch. I heard many nice comments about their experience at this event and the tasty food as well. Thanks to Kimberly for pictures taken around the interior of the tea house. Thanks to Doug Kerr for processing the pictures for my blog. Next month we are going to Carmen's house to play games and eat pizza co-hosted by Jean Courtier.

This is all I have to say for now.

Red Hatters Tea Luncheon at Friendship Tea House in Alamogordo, New Mexico

Saturday, January 5, 2019

Thirteen members of the New Mexico Roadrunner Chapter of the Red Hat Society gathered at the Friendship Tea House in Alamogordo, New Mexico to celebrate the New Year at a tea luncheon.

Our newest member was welcomed, Pink Hatter Alice Cuevas (Pink Hatters are young women between the ages of 21 and 49 and when they have their 50th birthday, the chapter holds a "Reduation" and presents them with their first Red Hat.) from Alamogordo who owns an advertising agency. We are so excited to welcome her into our midst!

Two birthdays were celebrated for Alice Evans and Margie Purcella. They were presented with gifts and a rousing kazoo Happy Birthday.

More plans were made for future events for the chapter with various members volunteering to host these FUN plans. Queen Ladybird aka Carla Kerr announced that Alice Evans is now Vice Queen of the chapter.

The food was delicious and we sampled three tea flavors which came from the Tea Shop in Cloudcroft, New Mexico. Proprietor Barb also has cans of these teas for sale. Everyone seemed to enjoy all three flavors. I know I did!

We have a wonderful year of events planned and with such an enthusiastic group, #PowerOfFun, which is our new slogan, will be easy to fulfill!

Thanks to Trudy Reese for taking the picture of me with Nancy.

This is all I have to say for now.

Red Hatters Tea At Friendship Tea House

February 10, 2018

Members of the New Mexico Roadrunner Chapter of the Red Hat Society in Alamogordo, New Mexico were the first customers of the new Friendship Tea House on Saturday, February 10, 2018.

This lovely tea house is Barb Frick's dream come true and she is a grand hostess and an excellent cook as well. We were treated to scones with Devonshire Cream, various sandwiches, cookies, fruit on a skewer, deviled eggs, gelatin salad, potato salad, an assortment of teas and her award winning cake.

We took a tour of this adorable tea house which, besides the large room with a long table, includes a room decorated for children's birthday tea parties. When you walk down the hall from this, there is a large closet which she calls the wardrobe room with hats, gloves, scarves, jewelry, etc. for little girls to dress up in for their tea party. The back room (she calls it the sun room) has a huge round table for playing games, cards, or arts and crafts. There is a galley kitchen all shiny new and Barb's darling husband assists her.

You may book a tea by appointment only by calling Barb at 605-360-8800 (she moved here from South Dakota) and as she says, "Pour yourself a memory".

We had such a grand time and several of the girls said they are ready to go back anytime. I apologize that there are not more pictures because there were ten Red Hatters in attendance but I was having too much FUN to pay attention to photography!

Thanks to Barb for taking the picture of me with the cake.

This is all I have to say for now.
